The “Foxes on Front” Hunt Begins: A New Way to Explore Historic Georgetown!
There is something truly magical about living in a town where history comes alive right on your doorstep. If you’ve been looking for the perfect excuse to spend a sunny morning exploring downtown Georgetown with the family, we have some fantastic news for you!
On June 30th, the community gathered on the beautiful lawn of the Kaminski House Museum for the official 10:30 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony of the permanent Foxes on Front Hunt. Co-unveiled by the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), Colonial Dames, and the Georgetown 250 organizations, this incredible new scavenger hunt was created to honor one of our area’s greatest Revolutionary War heroes: General Francis Marion, famously known as the “Swamp Fox.”
Nine Tiny Foxes. One Big Adventure.
Immediately following the ribbon cutting, excited children and their families headed out into our historic downtown district to kick off the ultimate neighborhood game of hide-and-seek.
Participants are now tasked with tracking down nine tiny foxes cleverly hidden throughout downtown Georgetown. It’s the perfect blend of local history, fresh air, and family-friendly mystery. Whether you're a long-time resident or just visiting for the weekend, this hunt offers a wonderful way to slower down and notice the gorgeous historic architecture and vibrant storefronts that make Front Street so special.
Fun for the Whole Family—Permanently!
The best part? The Foxes on Front Hunt is now a permanent fixture in our community, meaning it is open to locals and visitors alike year-round. It’s destined to become a beloved weekend tradition for local families, a hit for grandparents hosting grandkids, and a "must-do" for anyone trying to get to know the unique charm of our historic district.
